Peace of mind for every cookout, quiet morning, and holiday on the deck or porch you love. Here is what each written warranty covers, in plain words, with the full official documents to download.
That coverage is set out in the Patwin Plastics Deck and Porch Board warranty for our cellular PVC deck and porch boards, made in Linden, NJ. The decorative laminated wood grain surface on TrueGrain Deck™ is also backed by the RENOLIT GEOFOL foil warranty, the laminate manufacturer's own foil warranty.
Patwin Plastics Deck and Porch Board Warranty
25 Year Limited Residential · 10 Year Limited CommercialIssued by Patwin Plastics, Inc. for Patwin Porch Board, Deck, and accessory items, to the original purchaser or property owner at the time of purchase.
What it covers
- Manufacturing defects. The product will be free of manufacturing defects that would cause splitting, flaking, rotting, or structural defects as a direct result of the manufacturing process.
- Fade. The boards are designed to resist fading, and the product will not fade after exposure to light and weathering more than 5 DeltaE (CIE) units. Some lightening and natural weathering can happen depending on your conditions, and the warranty says weathering is not a material defect.
- Stain. The boards are made to resist permanent staining from spilled food and beverage items, when the spill is cleaned with soap and water or a mild household cleaner within one (1) week.
Residential and commercial
The full warranty applies to single family and residential applications. For all other installations, including commercial, it is limited to 10 years. The value of any claim is at the sole discretion of Patwin Plastics and is prorated over the life of the warranty, and a repair or replacement will never exceed the original purchase price. Patwin's remedy is replacement of the defective product.
What is not covered
- Improper installation by the purchaser or a third party
- Settling, distortion, or collapse of the structure the boards are installed on
- Improper handling, storage, or abuse, including snow removal or other scraping with a metal shovel or other metal object
- Naturally occurring casualties such as flooding, tornadoes, earthquakes, and hurricanes
- Paints or other chemicals not recommended by the manufacturer
- Extreme heat sources, including sunlight reflected from Low E glass
How to make a claim
- Notify Patwin within 30 days of discovering a defect, with proof of purchase and an explanation of the defect.
- Send proof of purchase date, a description, and photographs of the affected area to Patwin Plastics, 2300 E Linden Ave, Linden, NJ 07036.
- For a stain claim: first clean the area within one (1) week of the spill. If it still looks reasonably unsatisfactory, have it cleaned by a professional deck cleaner at your expense. If it still looks reasonably unsatisfactory after that, you may claim within 30 days after the professional cleaning, with reasonable proof you followed these steps.
- Patwin may ask for more information or inspect the product. A replaced product carries the remaining warranty term of the original.
Selling your home
This warranty may be transferred one time within a five year period from the original purchase date. The original purchaser or property owner sends Patwin a written request with proof of purchase and transfer of ownership within sixty (60) days of the transfer. The new owner receives the remaining term and conditions.

RENOLIT GEOFOL Foil Warranty for TrueGrain Deck
25 Year Limited Residential (USA)The beautiful wood grain you see on TrueGrain Deck™ is a RENOLIT GEOFOL decorative exterior foil laminated to the board. RENOLIT, the laminate manufacturer, provides its own foil warranty on that surface. As written, the foil warranty covers RENOLIT GEOFOL decorative exterior foil applied to approved PVC or aluminum decking profiles in residential applications within the United States.
What it covers
For the warranty period, the foil will not:
- Exhibit abnormal color change in excess of two (2) Delta E (CIE) units within the same profile; or
- Exhibit cracking affecting at least ninety five percent (95%) of the visible foil surface area.
How long, and how coverage steps down
The warranty runs twenty five (25) years from the date of purchase. Coverage is prorated:

The remedy is prorated replacement of foil material or a refund of the prorated material value, at RENOLIT's sole discretion. It does not cover labor, removal, disposal, reinstallation, access costs, inspection fees, or professional services of any kind.
What is not covered
- Improper installation, storage, transport, handling, ventilation, gapping, or fastening, or not following RENOLIT's written instructions
- Chemicals, including solvents, acids, alkaline substances, oils, sunscreens, insect repellents, fertilizers, de icing salts, or pool chemicals
- Any heat source over 140°F (60°C), including grills, fire pits, heat guns, and non natural reflections such as from Low E windows
- Pressure washing over 1,200 psi, abrasive cleaning tools, metal edged shovels, scraping, gouging, or impact damage
- Mold, mildew, pollen, dirt, dust, animal or insect droppings, or grime not removed within seven (7) days
- Structural movement, substrate failure, warping, twisting, collapse, deflection, settlement, or improper support spacing
- Storms, hail, hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, earthquakes, wildfires, or any Act of God
- Normal weathering, gloss reduction, or color variation within two (2) Delta E units in the first five (5) years, or fifteen (15) Delta E units over the following twenty (20) years
- Batch to batch color variance or shade differences
- Commercial, industrial, rental, multifamily, or other non residential use
How a claim works
The warranty states that RENOLIT must be notified in writing by its direct contractual partner within 30 days after a defect is discovered, including the date of discovery, type of defect, batch number (FOID), delivery date, and invoice date. Notice later than 30 days voids the warranty. Notices go to American RENOLIT Corporation, 1207 East Lincolnway, LaPorte, IN 46350. Transfer
This warranty applies only to the original residential owner of the property where the foil is installed and is not transferable to later owners or occupants.
