Both lines run on the same Patwin Plastics extrusion line with the same cellular PVC compound and the same three board profiles. The choice is about surface: classic solid-color tones or a laminated hardwood grain.
Patwin Plastics warrants every Legacy PVC deck and porch board against splitting, flaking, rotting, or structural defects from manufacturing. Boards will not fade more than 5 Delta E (CIE) units. Stain warranty covers permanent staining from food and beverage when cleaned within one week of exposure.

Legacy PVC Decking is American Pro's original cellular PVC deck board. The board is solid-color UV-stabilized PVC with a subtle wood-grain texture, manufactured on the same extrusion line as our flagship TrueGrain Deck. The difference is the surface finish: Legacy PVC carries a classic seven-color palette, TrueGrain carries a laminated hardwood-grain surface.
Seven classic colors: Driftwood (light grey wood-grain), Khaki (warm tan), Hazelnut (medium warm brown), Beachwood (cool grey grain), Chestnut (rich red-brown), Redwood (warm reddish-brown), and Slate (medium warm grey).
Three profiles. Solid Edge boards have square edges and are face screwed with color-matched plugs. Grooved Edge boards have a slot in each side edge for standard grooved-edge hidden clips, such as Starborn Clip & Rip. Grooved for InvisiClip boards have two dovetail channels on the underside that seat onto our InvisiClip rail system. Both hidden options leave no visible screws on the finished deck. Yes, two ways. Order the Grooved for InvisiClip profile for our InvisiClip system, which is built to the Grad System spec; its underside channels are the same on Legacy PVC and TrueGrain Deck. Or order the Grooved Edge profile, which accepts universal side-edge hidden clips made for grooved decking, such as CAMO EDGE and WEDGE clips and Starborn Clip & Rip, so installers can use the hidden fastener line they already stock. The two grooved profiles are not interchangeable, so match the board to the fastener.
Yes. The Starborn Pro Plug System is a matched face-fastening setup for Legacy PVC Decking, ideal for the spots that have to be top-fastened anyway, such as stair treads, the perimeter board against the house, and the last course at a wall. A stepped bit pre-drills and counterbores in one pass, then stainless screws are driven and tapered cellular PVC plugs are tapped in and sanded flush. Because Legacy is solid color all the way through, the color-matched plug blends into the board and ages with the deck instead of standing out. Order Solid Edge boards for face fastening. Starborn face screws and plugs are also used on TrueGrain Deck Solid Edge boards.
